Willis H. Mirrell

Willis H. Cory Mirrell, age 81, of Urbana, left this earth to be with his lord on Thursday, October 1, 2015, in his residence. He was born in Urbana, OH on September 26, 1934 to the late William and Mamie (Spellman) Mirrell. Willis worked at Navistar (IH) in the Truck Repair Department, retiring after 32 years. He was an Army Veteran and Trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles lodge 979. Willis is survived by his wife, Beverly (Jenkins) Mirrell; son, Ronald (Pat) Mirrell; daughter, Brenda Walters (Darryl) Smith; grandchildren, Dana, Christopher, Levi; and great-grandchildren, Lacan, Samantha, Makenzie, and Mercedez. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Ivan, Edison, Willard, and Eddie. Willis loved the Champaign County fair and began talking and planning for it months in advance every year. His children and grandchildren brought a joy to his life that was felt by all. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
