JACKSON, Willie Mai, age 84 of Urbana, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born on January 22, 1940 to the late Ben Hughes Jr. and Jimmie-Stella (Lawrence) Hughes. Willie was the oldest of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Joe Hughes, Acie Hughes, James Hughes, Penny Hughes, and Stella Cunningham. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, George “Skip” Jackson; children: Elizabeth (Russell) McCollum, Rebecca (Robert) Pursley, and Philip (Kember) Jackson; siblings: Charles Hughes, Cynthia (Robert) Reynolds, Pamela Woodward, Peggy Lawrence, and Shirley Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of spiritual children and grandchildren. Willie was a devoted servant to Jehovah her God and spent her life teaching others about God’s Kingdom with Jesus Christ as King. She loved taking care of her family as a loving wife and mother, and was truly well known as a talented seamstress, excellent cook, & quite the Mother Hen. Willie Mai’s arms were always open to welcome others into her family. Lastly, we won’t soon forget the daily walks she’d happily set aside time for in order to peacefully reflect on the people & things that meant so much to her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 3:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 700 State Route 54, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
