William G. Schetter,

William G. Schetter, MD, 84 of St. Joseph MI, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014. He was born June 14, 1929 in Akron, OH, the son of Clyde Edward and Ellen Irene (McClure) Schetter. He graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict on board the U.S.S. Missouri. Dr. Schetter graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1959, and did his ENT training at the Stanford Medical Center. He was a devoted physician for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fan who especially liked watching college football. He also enjoyed reading and listening to classical music. He leaves behind his beloved sons David W. Schetter, MD and his wife Laura of Burr Ridge, IL, Thomas A. Schetter of St. Joseph, MI, cherished granddaughter Ashleigh and dear friend Marianne Watson of Urbana. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia Ann (Reilly), and a sister, Julia Wasil. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, with Rev. Kevin Horrigan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10:00 11:00 A.M.).
