Vivian Ann Fox

Fox, Vivian Ann (Barger), passed away on September 26, 2018 at approximately 10:36pm (PST) at her residence at the Mountain Glen Retirement Center in Mount Vernon, WA. She was 83 years old. She was born in Kingscreek, Ohio, but she lived the majority of her life on State Route 29 east of Urbana, helping to raise her family and participating in her community. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Philip and her parents, Donald and Alma Barger. She is survived by her adult children, Jenny Lang of Mount Vernon, WA, Myra Beaty of Dayton, OH, and Bradley Fox of Mount Vernon, OH, her sons- and daughter-in-law (Chuck Lang, Jeff Beaty, and Jalene Fox), and her grandsons Ryan Stokes (North Carolina), and Jackson Philip Fox (Columbus, OH).Vivian was beloved for her kindness, sense of humor, and strong musical talent. For many years she served as pianist for the congregation of First Baptist Church in Urbana where she was a long-time and well-respected member. She moved to Mount Vernon, WA three years ago to live near her eldest daughter and son-in-law and enjoyed her time in a cooler environment where she no longer needed to tend to a large yard and could enjoy milder winters.Thanks are extended to the staff of Mountain Glen, Hospice of the Northwest, and Pet Partners (a pet therapy service based in Bellevue, WA) for their compassionate, caring, and professional services which blessed and comforted her in her final months. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Saturday, October 6, 2018 followed by a brief service at 11 AM Saturday at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, 642 S. Main St in Urbana.
