Vincent J. Jack Simpson, Sr., 84, of De Graff, died at 7:37 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was born on September 13, 1929 in Champaign County, OH, a son of James Arthur and Maud (Young) Simpson Jack served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from Quincy Casting and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ernestine (Watkins) whom he married Feb. 26, 1972; daughters, Pam Mandell and her husband Joe of San Antonio, TX, Vonda Simpson and her partner Tiffany of Bellefontaine, Jackie Burdiss of Sidney, Deanne McKnight of De Graff; sons Vincent J.J. Simpson, Jr. and Christy of De Graff, Kent Watkins and Amy of Sidney, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a brother Donald Simpson of Quincy. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Delores, Vonda, Helen and a brother Norman. The family will receive friends from noon-2:00 P.M on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St, Urbana, where the services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday.
