Sue (Blair) McLaughlin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 3, 2015 7:29 pm at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 27, 1940 in Johnson County, KY. She was one of seven children of Curtis and Dixie (Blair) Blair. She graduated from Salem High School in Kingscreek, OH in 1960. She had her first job babysitting at age 11 years old. She then worked at the Salem Drive-In theater at age 15. After high school she went to the Frederick Beauty Academy where she earned her Cosmetology License in 1962. She worked for a little while for other salons, before opening her own salon "The Hairloom." Here she operated her business for over 50 years. She loved her clientele and they loved her. They were always treated like family with love and care. Sue was a hard worker and strong fighter. She married her loving and devoted husband Charles McLaughlin Oct. 27, 1962. Charles spent every night with her at the hospitals and held her as she took her last earthly breathe. She loved working in the yard gardening, helping others, and serving her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of Faith Fellowship Church of Urbana. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. She always put other people first. She leaves behind loving family, and friends including her husband of 52 years, Charles McLaughlin; daughter, Nicole and Glenn Clyburn of Urbana; grandchildren, Brandon and Courtney Clyburn of Urbana; brothers Jess and Claudia Blair of Springfield, Sam and Judy Blair of Urbana; sisters Irene and Bob LeMaster of Urbana, Janet and Bobby Jones of Cable. Also left behind are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Dixie Blair; her son, Tony McLaughlin; brother, Bernett Blair; and sister, Betty Jean Blair-May. In closing, Nicole, her beloved daughter, wanted to express her feelings for her mom."My mom is the most awesome person. She chose to adopt me and I want everyone to know that I was blessed to have her and my dad who I love so much. She was caring, giving, loving, kind, sweet and soft spoken person. She touched a lot of lives while she was here and everyone who met her loved her." The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday September 8, 2015 in Faith Fellowship Church, 236 Bloomfield Ave., Urbana, OH. The funeral service will promptly follow the viewing at 2 p.m. with Pastor Floyd Smith and Pastor Roger Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, OH.
