Steven Eugene Jesus in Blue Jeans Mitchell, 58, of Springfield, went to sleep in Jesus on Saturday, November 14, 2015. He was born on August 12, 1957 in Springfield, OH, a son of Paul and Bertha (Davis) Mitchell. A member of the River of Life Christian Center and Faith Tabernacle of Urbana, Steven is a communications specialist at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He is an ordained minister and prophet of the gospel, an ambassador of all nations, lover of all people and his mission in life is to spread and teach the full gospel. Steven is an incredible musician, guitar player and song writer. He is a die-hard sci-fi fan, CornNut lover and is never without a smile or helping hand. Family members include wife Cynthia Pickett-Mitchell; sons, Rustin Pickett (Jannah) of California and Marcus Pickett of Philadephia, PA; daughter, Jasmine Pickett of California; grandchildren, Tai Jeremy Devano Pickett and Mitchell David Corwin Pickett; siblings, Darrel Mitchell of Springfield, Sheila Mitchell-Cooke (Sam) of Columbus, Sharon Mitchell-Harriger (Chuck) of Michigan and Kim Mitchell-McFadden (Charles) of Arizona; nephew, Tim Clark of Columbus; and niece, Cameron Cooke of Columbus. One of the happiest days of his life was when he was given the awesome privilege of being husband to Cynthia and father to Rustin, Marcus and Jazzy, whom he loves relentlessly. His devout commitment to them is unprecedented. Family members will gather from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the River of Life Christian Center, 775 Washington Ave., Urbana, where a Celebration Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastors Dan Leiker and Brian Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. The family is being served by WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Condolences may be expressed at www.walterfunerals.com.
