Shizuko "Ruby" Metz

Shizuko “Ruby” (Takenoya) Metz, 80, of Urbana, died at 7:03 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 in Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on May 23, 1932 in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Perfecture Japan, the daughter of Masaji and Sato Takenoya. She was married to Frank Waldo Metz on June 29, 1964 until his death on Aug. 2, 1991. Ruby became a U.S. Citizen on April 4, 1977 and was so proud to be an American. She retired from Champaign Nursing Home , enjoyed knitting and giving to people, and had a good heart. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Nellie Metz, Ida (Dick) Huffman and Donna Moody, brothers-in-law, Wes (Jo) Metz and Leonard Rowe, and special friend, Ralph Jackson. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Waldo Metz, two sisters and one brother. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt.
