Shirley Ann Tulley

Shirley Ann Tulley, age 80 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the Ohio State Medical Center. Born on October 1, 1944, in Cable, Ohio, she was a source of joy and creativity to all who knew her.

Shirley dedicated her professional life to the art of hairstyling, sharing her talents at Cutting Edge, where she developed lasting relationships with her clientele and colleagues. Her passion for her work was evident in every hairstyle she crafted, marked by her keen eye for detail and her innate ability to make others feel beautiful.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Shirley's interests blossomed in various creative pursuits. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and finding solace in music, all of which allowed her to express her vibrant spirit and bring joy to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Brian) Applegate; her brothers, Robert Instine and William Instine, along with sister Caroline Outram; and sister-in-law, Delores Instine. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Liam and Quentin Applegate, whose lives were enriched by her love and wisdom.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tulley; her brother, Eugene Instine; and her parents, William Instine and Alice (McDaniel) Instine. Each of them played a significant role in her life, and she will be deeply missed by her family and the friends who walked alongside her throughout her journey.

The family wishes to invite those who knew and loved Shirley to pay their respects during visitation on January 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Both services will be held at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, located at 642 S Main St, Urbana, OH 43078.
