Shirley M. Shy

Shirley M. Shy, 91, of Urbana, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born on July 5, 1927 in Urbana, OH, a daughter of Lawrence L. and Erma L. (Patton) Hawkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Shy of California and dear friends, Betty Wellbaum, Susan Hatfield and Pat and Butch Freeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn Hounchell.
Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mutual.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to PAWS Animal Shelter in Urbana or the Activities Department at Mercy McAuley Center in Urbana.
