Shirley Ann Copeland

COPELAND, Shirley Ann age 78, lost her courageous battle of a lengthy illness and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was born on January 18, 1940 to the late Otis W. and Rosella (Faber) Knox in Urbana, Ohio. Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 61 years, Wayne Copeland; daughters: Connie (Donald Jr.) Champ, Julie (Robert) Dwyer, and Debbie (Douglas) Todd; grandchildren: Lynnette (Matthew) Taylor, Jason (Angel) Champ, Jessica (Kyle) Puckett, Olivia (Joel) Westfall, Elyse (Joshua) Laux, Alexandra Todd and David Todd as well as her great-grandchildren: Mollie, Abbie, Zoie, Chase, Mason, Summer, Madelynn, Ashton, Brayden, Aria, Jack, and Jude. She is also survived by her brother, Harley G. (Carol) Knox and her special friend, Joan Brammer and care taker, Denise Martin. Shirley is twice retired from Grimes Manufacturing in 1993 and again from J.C. Penney's in 2013. She enjoyed being a part of the Euchre Mamas and Lakeland Ladies Golf League. Above all, Shirley was a devoted matriarch to her family. Always putting others needs above her own and not thinking twice about it. She was such a loving soul and will be deeply missed by all that knew her. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, with her service following on Thursday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest at Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Shirley's honor may be made to Champaign County Cancer Association.
