Sharon Sue Smart

Sharon Sue Smart, age 74, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on January 17, 1948, in Flat River, Missouri, the daughter of the late Harold F. and Helen F. (Summers) Montgomery. She leaves behind her sons, Kevin Douglas Smart and Kenneth Wayne (Melissa) Smart; grandson, Michael Smart; sister, Deborah (Pat) Thornburg; sister-in-law, Luann Montgomery; sister, Leann (Stephen) Guiles; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Smart and brother, Harold W. Montgomery. Sharon was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ where she was deeply loved by her church family. She was dedicated to her family and was always willing to help those in need. Sharon loved quilting, sewing, art and traveling, but above all else, she cherished every minute she could with her family. Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 1-2p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with service beginning at 2p.m. Sharon will be laid to rest beside her husband on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11a.m. at Hammond Cemetery in Hammond, Illinois.
