Sharon L. Randall

November 17, 1952 — July 24, 2016

In the early hours of Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Springfield Regional Hospital, Sharon L. Slone Randall passed. Sharon fought for her life alongside loved ones after undergoing emergency open heart surgery following an unexpected heart attack. The Lord, however, decided it was her time and she passed in the arms of her closest family members.

Born in Pike County, Ohio on November 17, 1952, Sharon was the daughter of the late Pina (Brown) Peters and Roy Slone. Her stepfather, the late Arthur Peters, was also very important to her and her other five siblings: Clyde Slone, Wilma Smith, Vernon Slone, the late Eddie Slone, and the late Ann Elliot. Her step-brothers and sisters, the late Jim and Dan Peters, Dave Peters, and Anna Belle Webb, remained close and important to her family as well.

Sharon married her high school sweetheart Terry Randall on June 14, 1969 in Springfield, Ohio, and the couple remained together for a total of 49 years. Their two daughters, Stacy (Randall) Pratt, married to Dana Pratt, and Hillary Randall were integral parts of Sharon’s life and happiness, as well as her two grandchildren, Skyler Reisinger and Colby Shultz, sons of Stacy Pratt. She was proud of her family and children’s accomplishments.

Sharon was a long-time employee of Kroger in Urbana. More recently, she cared for several special people as a home caregiver. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. Her Christian faith was ever-important to her, from early childhood to her last days. Sharon found the beauty in every day, consistently pointing out full moons and stopping to pick wildflowers. She deeply cared for everyone in her life.

Memorial services will be held at the Urbana City Park at the stage area (adjacent to the pond) on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dove Pentecostal Assembly 424 S Fountain Ave. Springfield, OH 45506. A special thanks to the staff at Springfield Regional Hospital for their superior care and support. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com.
