Sally Winona Culp (Brake)

Sally Winona (Chance) (Brake) Culp, 80, of Urbana, Ohio, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2021. She was born January 2, 1941 in Sevierville, TN to William Arlie and Zelma Jane (Tarwater) Chance.
She was a “Work-At-Home” Mom before obtaining her RN degree. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church of Urbana for over 40 years, where she also taught Sunday School. For several years, she was an active member of Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church, and was always ready to give a testimony. She read her Bible through 25 times and led several Bible Studies in nursing homes. She loved singing, gardening, and talking to people about Jesus.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Carla (Mike) Swank, Sarah (Phillip) Graham; son Karl Mark Brake (Emily) Young; sister Betty McKinney; daughter-in-law Kathy, son-in-law Harold; several beloved relatives in Tennessee and Ohio; grandchildren Matthew (Kristin), Sarah, Leila (Justin); Miranda (Brandt), Andrea, Katelyn, Rachel; James, Mark (Jessica), Levi, Ann, John; Brendan and Landon; great grandchildren Keegan, Madison, Maci, Nathan; Cooper, Sawyer; and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Mark Brake; daughter Sheila (Brake) Breslin; brothers Tex, Gale, Samuel, Smitty, and Charles Chance; infant sister Serra Sue; and late husband Joe Culp.
The family would like to express special thanks to Sally’s friend Sharon Patterson who helped care for her the past few months.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in the Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in the funeral home with Pastor Michael Aaron Samples officiating. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery following the service.
