Ruth Ann Branch

BRANCH, Ruth Ann age 84 of Urbana passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Mercy Hospital-Urbana.  She was born on October 24, 1938 in Urbana, to the late Charles and Vallie (Welch) Cousins. In addition to her parents, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by siblings: Charlotte (Pete) Mefford and Phillip Cousins as well as her grandson, Cody Branch. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Karl Branch; children: Missie (Kevin) Wright, Keith (Yolima) Branch, Brian (Betty) Branch; grandchildren: Eric Lensman, Chad (Shannon) Lensman, Travis Wright, Jordan (Taylor) Wright, Keith (Raven) Branch Jr., Nicole Branch, Caitlin Branch and Clayton Branch as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Ruth Ann is also survived by her siblings: Peggy (John) Reibling, Emily Smith, Barbara Jackson and Bill Cousins and nieces: Mindy Wells and Carol Mefford also known as her adoptive daughter.  Ruth Ann managed and was an independent accountant for many places and retired from Laird's Tax Service.  She was a proud 1956 graduate of Urbana High School and loved planning reunions to see her former classmates.  Ruth Ann and Karl were fortunate enough to have been "snow birds" for 17 years, spending their winters in Florida. She also knew how to throw an amazing Fourth of July party and her family plans to have one last celebration next 4th for her.  If you were lucky enough to have Ruth Ann as a friend, you knew her huge heart and also that her family was the most important thing in her life.  Being a mother was an honor but being a grandmother gave her special joy to her heart.  Contributions in Ruth Ann's memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
