Ruth Anne Eleyet

Ruth Anne Eleyet, 77, of Urbana, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
She was born on September 20, 1939 in Urbana, OH, a daughter of Neurus and Lucy (Bozman) Cox. Ruth was the 1957 Class Salutatorian for the last class at Concord High School before it consolidated with Graham Schools. She was in the second graduating class from Clark Tech with an associate’s in nursing and was a nurse at Mercy Memorial Hospital for most of her career.
A lifetime member of the Concord United Methodist Church, Ruth served as organist for 35 years. She was also a 4-H advisor for 16 years in sewing and had a passion for painting. Ruth loved camping in Tennessee and enjoyed boating and fishing.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, David Eleyet; children, Susan (Bill) Boggs, Steve (Christine Godleski) Eleyet, Sandy (Bill) Black, Scott (Angie) Eleyet and Sheryl (Donald) Cain; grandchildren, Brianna (Sean Best) Boggs, Alicia Boggs, Brittany (Jesse) Hecker, Brandon Boyd, Lee (Samantha) Eleyet, Sarah Eleyet, Anna Eleyet, Lindsey DuVall, Jeron (Martha) Cain, Justin (Kelly) Cain, Jacob (Kelly) Cain, Chelsi Cain; great-grandchildren, Ethan Hecker, Aubrey Hecker, Cassidee and Leah Eleyet, Jordan, Courtney, Austin and Brock Cain, Brayden Cain, Jadyn Cain, Tyler and Aubrey Cain and Kynli Williams; sisters, Jean Johnson and Linda (Bill) Cooke; brother, Karl (Kaye) Cox; and numerous nephews and nieces, friends, co-workers at Mercy Memorial and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Shaffer (Laurel); brothers-in-law, Charlie Johnson and David Colwell Sr.; and nephew, David Colwell Jr.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the Concord United Methodist Church, 2963 N. State Route 560, Urbana, where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Sherri Blackwell officiating.
