Ruby I. Schroeder

Ruby Brittsan Schroeder, 96, of Urbana, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield. She was born on May 2, 1918 in Wren, OH, the daughter of Perry and Ida Mae (Gay) Workinger. Ruby was a graduate of Wren High School and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Urbana. Survivors include a son, Don Brittsan and his wife Eileen of Urbana; stepson, Larry Schroeder and wife Sandy of Carmel, IN; stepdaughter, Jane Bell of Mineral Springs, OH; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lowell Brittsan and Ernest Schroeder; brother, Leo Workinger; and grandson, Christopher. Family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Samples officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, IN. The family wishes to thank all hospice organizations that were involved in Rubys care over the many years.
