Robert "Bob" Wetzell

Robert Bob Wetzell, 80, of Urbana, died at 2:46 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on July 10, 1934 in Urbana, OH, the son of Milton B. and Hazel L. (Matthews) Wetzell. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Urbana High School and a graduate of Wittenberg University. He was an art instructor for 36 years, retiring from the Springfield school system. Bob was a member of the Urbana First Presbyterian Church and Harmony Lodge No. 8 F&AM. He was a board member of the Champaign County Preservation Alliance and past member of many other clubs. Bob loved gardening, flowers and antique cars and was an animal advocate. He is survived by cousins and many special friends and was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 with Rev. Kevin Horrigan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Memorial contributions may be made in Bobs memory to a favorite animal rescue society.
