Rita J. Greene

Rita J. Greene, 70, of Urbana, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 in her residence. She was born July 27, 1942 in Urbana, the daughter of Herbert M. and Opal C. (Hill) Jones. Rita was a member of Bethesda Apostolic Church and a graduate of Urbana High School. She worked at Drackett and then retired from FMC in San Jose, CA. She enjoyed reading her Bible, taking rides and writing poems and in her journals. Survivors include her mother, Opal C. Jones of Urbana, two daughters, Yvette “Sissy” Greene Elkins of Westerville and Andrea “Andy” Greene (Dan Ohler) of Urbana, son, Anthony “Buster” (Amy) Greene of Urbana, 10 grandchildren, James Michael Clark, Robert (Ashlie) Greene, Brice Greene, Arragone Greene, Cynthia Marlene Elkins, Cierra Greene, Payton Greene, Shelby Faith Elkins, Jacob Greene, Austin Greene, 3 great-grandchildren, Samara Keeran, Anthony Keeran and Charles Greene, 6 sisters, Dimitra (Herschel) Byrd of Urbana, Yvonne (LaVelle) Roe of Columbus, Patricia Jones of Urbana, Pam Jones of Palo Alto, CA, Lorraine Jones of Mountain View, CA, and Roberta Jones of San Jose, CA, two brothers, Herbert Jones of Urbana and John Jones of Urbana, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was preceded in death by her father, the father of her children, Charles Greene, daughter, Cynthia, and brothers, Stanley F. Jones and Stanton K. Jones. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S.
