Richard William Clay

Richard William Clay, age 64, passed away on August 28, 2021 in Urbana, Ohio. Richard was born on July 7, 1957 in Urbana, Ohio to Richard G. and Ruth M. (Spence) Clay. He is preceded in death by his son, Justin Clay, and brothers; Dennis Runkle and David Knisley. Richard is survived by his son, Richard Clay, sister, Julia Niarchos, daughter-in-law, Sarah Clay, grandchildren; Keegan, Madison, Maci, and Nathaniel, niece Savannah, nephew L.J., 1st wife and mother of his children, Kathy (Martin) Clay and 2nd wife, Sandy (Smith) Clay. Richard selflessly served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a lumberman, retiring from West Liberty lumber.

Richard was a kind and giving person, helping many in the community with grocery shopping, attending medical appointments, paying for food for their pets and other needed supports. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending evenings at home with his cat, Mr. Jinx. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard will be forever loved and missed.

Services will be on Sunday the 19th of September at 12:00 Noon at the Mad River Bridge on Millerstown Road. Reception will immediately follow at 204 Lafayette Ave. Urbana, Ohio 43078.
