Richard L. Tomblin

TOMBLIN, Richard L. "Richie" age 54 of Springfield formerly of Urbana passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024 at his home. He was born on January 6, 1970 in Urbana, Ohio to Shirley (Tomblin) Slusser and the late Kenneth McDowell. In addition to his father, Richie was preceded in death by his step-father, James Slusser and maternal grandparents, Chester and Icie Tomblin. He leaves behind his mother, Shirley; brother, Jayson Tomblin; sister, Melissa (James) Cordial; aunt, Deborah (William) LeFever; uncle, Douglas Tomblin; niece, Taylor Cordial and family friend, Harold Conley. Richie was previously employed by Ponderosa Steakhouse and worked the past 27 years at Orbis Corporation. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a life celebration service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Richie's honor.
