Paul Golden Price

Paul Golden Price, 84, of Urbana, died Friday, March 7, 2014 in his home. He was born on April 1, 1929 in Westville, OH, the son of J.R. and Parnie Phillips Price. Paul graduated from Westville School in 1947, Urbana Junior College in 1949 and Miami University in 1951. He enlisted in the Army upon graduation and graduated from OCS in Fort Benning, GA. He served in the 48th MASH during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. Paul married Barbara L. Knox on May 27, 1956. He was in banking for 35 years with Citizens Bank (now Security) and served as a guide at the Ohio Caverns for 20 years. He attended Grace Baptist Church, Urbana, and was a lay speaker in many churches. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Price; 2 sons, Matthew and wife Jeanie of Brentwood, TN, and Mark of Urbana; 7 grandchildren, Senior Airman Leia Price of Albuquerque, NM, Rachel Price of Urbana, Savannah, Harrison, Hudson & Grayson and August Jean Price of Brentwood; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Esther Price Channell and Ruth Price Zerkle and brothers, Ewing Phillips Price and Robert Price. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Grace Baptist Church, 960 Childrens Home Road, Urbana, with Pastor Aaron Samples and Pastor Steve Smith officiating.
