Naomi Millie Amlin, age 89 of Kingscreek, passed away on July 13, 2022. Naomi was born on October 20, 1932 in Selma, Ohio to the late Roy and Muriel (Wilcoxon) Mefford. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard ‘Dick’ Amlin. Naomi is survived by her children; Sue Smith and Keith (Brenda) Amlin, grandchildren; Nathan (Sarah) Smith, Morgan (Kyle) Riley, Kacie Amlin, Amanda (Braun) Cunningham, Brad Amlin, and Wes Amlin, great-grandchildren; Cooper Smith, Klaire Riley, Karter Riley, Kole Riley, and Jude Cunningham, sisters; Arlene Smith and Willadean O’Brien, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Amlin, son-in-law, Doug Smith, brother, Carl (Dorothy) Mefford, and brothers-in-law; John Smith and Bob O’Brien.
Naomi was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Urbana for over 70 years. Her family and her church were her life. She and Dick enjoyed traveling, having spent many winters in Florida. Her hobbies were gardening and cooking. She was a great cook and a hard worker, having worked in various factories.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Urbana. Naomi will be laid to rest next to her husband at Kingscreek Cemetery.
