Nancy L. "Granny" Geron

Nancy L. “Granny” Geron, 81, of Urbana, died at 12:54 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1932 in Champaign County, the daughter of Harold and Janet (Miller) Kreglow. Nancy worked for Sodexo Dining Services at Urbana University for 50 years. Her passion was family and cooking. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Norman “Pappy” Geron, whom she married March 17, 1950, daughters, Cynthia (John) Johnson of Urbana, Jane Worthen of Urbana, Pamela Underwood of Urbana, grandchildren, Julie Johnson, Heather Johnson, JR Dobie, Jason Dobie, Shayna Underwood, and Adrian Underwood, thirteen great- grandchildren, sisters, Mary (Bill) Walters of Grove City, OH, brothers, Warren (Linda) Kreglow of Urbana, John (Estelle) Kreglow of AL, Bob (Nancy) Kreglow of FL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, little Kenny Underwood. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. till noon in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana where services will follow at noon with Pastor Tony Pena officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
