Millie Anne Rader, 97, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away Monday morning, August 7, 2017, in her home.
She was born on November 7, 1919 to Joseph William Sellers and Grace Belle Greenlee. She grew up with her brother Bill during the Great Depression, and by her own admission was a strong willed and difficult child. She was spirited in her youth, and always remained young at heart. She attended Ohio University in 1938, planning on becoming a doctor. However, she suffered from an illness that prevented her from returning to school, and after recovering, she joined the workforce at her father's business in Urbana. After she retired, she enjoyed numerous activities with many good friends at The Women's Town Club. She led an incredible life and was much beloved by her family and friends for her whimsical and loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Rader, in 1987. She is survived by her three daughters: Jo Anne (Mike) L’Heureux of Athens, Polly Huenke of Urbana, and Amy (Roger) Lewis of Montana; 7 grandchildren: Anne L’Heureux (Todd Bean) of Athens, Bill (Jennifer) L’Heureux of Nelsonville, Dave (Lyndi Maxwell) L’Heureux of Athens, Cat L’Heureux of Nelsonville, Erin Huenke (Daniel Martin) of Columbus, Adam (Emilie) Huenke of Pataskala, and Amy Huenke of Nelsonville and her great-grandchildren Olivia, Nicole, Tatum, Morris, Cordelia, Zander and Michael.
The family is being served by WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.walterfunerals.com.
