Mary Catherine Lokai

Mary Catherine Lokai, 97, of Urbana, died at 9:30 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 in Hearth & Home Assisted Living, Urbana. She was born September 25, 1917 in Urbana, OH, a daughter of John and Margaret (Costigan) Achatz. Mary, a graduate of St. Mary High School and Moores Business College was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality, and volunteer bookkeeper. She worked at W.H. Marvin, and was a head bookkeeper for Barnhart Oil Co., before working for Vance Brand. Survivors include her husband, Frank Lokai whom she married February 2, 1974; step children Jan (Jim) Albright, Larry (Elaine) Lokai, Rosalie (Wayne) Deri, Jim Lokai, Michael (Robin) Lokai, Nancy (Frank) Baldwin, Angela (Robert) Greenlee, Cecelia (Ben) Minnich, Frances Lokai, Rick Lokai, 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was the beloved aunt of Scott (Glo) Evilsizor, Jan Ridder, Nancy (Keith) Jackson, Bruce (Deanna) Evilsizor, Sonja Evilsizor, Kurt (Julie) Evilsizor, Brett Evilsizor, Beth (Paul) Madsen, John (Mary) Achatz, Charles (Kyle) Achatz, Robert (Vicki) Achatz, Carol (Thomas) Morris, Tom (Diane) Achatz, Gerald (Nancy) Achatz, Sharon (Richard) Brown and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Margaret Evilsizor and three brothers, William, Robert and John Achatz. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the St. Mary Catholic Church, 231 Washington Ave., Urbana, OH, 43078, with Father Larry Gearhart celebrant. Burial will be follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
