Marion L. "Butch" Kemp

Marion L. Butch Kemp, 73, of Urbana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 12, 1943 in Otway, OH, a son of the late Charles H. Kemp and Edna Mae Cupps. He was raised most of his life by Geneva Kemp. Butch was everyones friend who loved animals as well as riding bikes, and did so until he was physically unable. The rock of his family, Butch loved attending family reunions and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife of over 53 years, Lula Fay (Castle) Kemp; sons, Leroy (Lula) Kemp and Charles (Juanita) Kemp, Sr.; grandchildren, Bridget Combs, James Kemp Jr., Samantha Kemp, CJ Kemp, Amanda Kemp and Kelly Moore; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Penny K. Kemp; and numerous brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Carysville.
