"At approximately 6:00 p.m., January 26, 2022, my mother, Mariann Curl, passed away. She had been battling covid and double pneumonia since January 8, 2022. Finally, after speaking with the doctors and nurses caring for her, I decided to let her rest and head home to see her mother, Wilma, father, Elza, and brother, Tim. She has lived many lives as a mother, sister, daughter, and friend. A nurse, supervisor, director, and teacher. A homemaker, crafts enthusiast, and cook. She sang in the choir, fed the congregation, and supported the nursery and youth group alike. She never saw an animal she didn't love. She was a missionary, an American Baptist Women's member and President. More importantly, she was kind, even when she didn't need to be, and more kind to those who didn't deserve it. She will be greatly missed."
She is survived by her loving son, Carter 'CJ' Curl, and numerous other members of the family.
Due to the weather, Mariann’s service has been rescheduled, date and time will be announced at a later date. Burial will take place at Washington Cemetery, Washington Court House at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to His Hands Extended Sanctuary in Mariann's honor.
