Louise Antoinette Dwyer

Louise Antoinette (Culley) Dwyer, 84, went to be with our Lord, surrounded by family, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Springfield Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness. Antoinette was born March 7, 1930, in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of Mary Beatrice (Murray) and John Paul Culley. She married Francis Daniel Dwyer on June 18, 1955. Antoinette was a 1948 graduate of St. Marys High School, Urbana and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, School of X-Ray in Mariemont. She worked at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana as an x-ray technician until she started her family and remained a homemaker. Antoinette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will long be remembered for her sense of humor and entertaining stories of raising her family. As a devout Catholic, she was a life-long member of St. Marys Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. Antoinette enjoyed watching football, especially her beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She couldnt have been prouder of her Irish heritage, Irish Honor. Survivors include her daughter, Theresa of Carbondale, CO and six sons, Patrick of Phillipsburg, Timothy of Dayton, Thomas of Springfield, Robert (Julie) of Springfield, James of Springfield, John (Sandy) of Troy; grandchildren, Elyse (Josh) Laux, Megan, Grace, and John Dwyer; her best friend and big sister Mary (Culley) Dwyer, numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Libby Zettler, Catherine Lingrell, and Pat Brozouski. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis, son Daniel, and brothers Thomas, James, and Emmett Culley. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 231 Washington Ave., Urbana, with Father Greg Konerman, Celebrant. Inurnment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society (c/o St. Mary Church) or The Sycamore House, 1150 Scioto St., Suite 200, Urbana, OH 43078.
