Lois "Janie" Jane Petty

Lois “Janie” Jane Petty went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Urbana Health and Rehab, Urbana, Ohio. Janie was born on February 15, 1937, in Lyndon, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Goldie (Pennington) Ratcliff. In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Slone; and four brothers, Ernest “Ernie” Ratcliff, Don Ratcliff, Bill Ratcliff and Richard “Dick” Ratcliff. 

Janie worked for 32 years at what is now Honeywell, in Urbana, Ohio. She never missed a day of work. 

Janie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lester Petty of Urbana, Ohio; a sister, Linda (Lloyd) Tackett of Grayson, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Martha Gayer of Urbana, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. 

Viewing will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 11a.m.-1p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1:15p.m. at Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Pastor Aaron Samples will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Valley Hospice, 2601 Mission Point Blvd Ste 310, Beavercreek, OH 45431.
