Lois M. Lockwood, 75, of Urbana died Sunday morning in her daughter’s residence. She was born September 24, 1937 in Champaign County, a daughter of Charles and Mamie (Long) McCain. Lois a 1955 Urbana High School graduate, first job was with Milner’s Cafeteria and had worked at G.C. Murphy’s and Ames Store in Bellefontaine. She loved to work with crafts especially plastic canvas and sewing. Survivors include her daughters Elizabeth Powell and her husband Jerry of Urbana, Patricia Austin and her husband Gary of West Liberty, son Gary Lockwood of Urbana, grandchildren Brandi Powell of Urbana, Ryan Austin of West Liberty, sister, Annabelle Wilson of Urbana, aunt, Dorothy Cooperider of Marysville, sisters-in-law Alberta Lockwood Whisler of Arcadia, IN, Mattie McCain of Springfield, Janet Lockwood of St. Paris, Donna Campbell of Cable, brother-in-law Edwin Lockwood of Urbana, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Lockwood, sister Mary Pinkerman, brothers, John, Donald, Charles, and William McCain. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. The family will have a reception following the burial at PineView Hall, 642 Lippencott Rd., Urbana, OH 43078.
