Leonard "Sonny" Austin

Leonard Sonny Ansel Austin, 55, of Urbana, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Heartland of Urbana. Sonny was born on March 16, 1959 in Urbana, OH, the son of Howard and Lula (Smith, Cutlip) Austin. He loved cars, especially Ford trucks, and when he was younger he would work on cars with his family. A kind and gentle soul, Sonny loved his mother, chocolate and Pepsi. He was also an avid wrestling fan, an OSU fan (he loved wearing his special red baseball cap) and he loved the Dukes of Hazard. Survivors include his mother, Lula M. Austin of Urbana; a sister, Edna (Cutlip) Adams of Urbana; aunts, Janet Pearson and Edna Dunlap; cousins, Robert Russel and Timmy Pearson; and special friend, Jeff Evilsizor. He will also be missed by his friends and the staff at Heartland. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Austin, and brothers, Joe Cutlip and Eldo Cutlip. Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jim Lillibridge officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
