Leonard J. Bodey

Leonard J. Bodey, 95, of Urbana, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana. Leonard was born July 30, 1920 in Urbana, OH to Orville Bodey and Olive (Pence) Bodey Rust. He was a graduate of Urbana High School and served in WWII in the Air Force. He was retired from the Bulldog (Siemens). On June 16, 1943, Leonard married Betty Lucas and they had four sons: Gary (Pat) Bodey, Larry (Dixie) Bodey, David Bodey and Mike (Kathy) Bodey; 7 grandchildren, Scott (Cathy) Bodey, Mark (Melissa) Bodey, Greg (Wende) Bodey, Deb (Jeff) Hogue, Shelly (Clinton) Murray, Toni (Mike) Mossbarger and Shannan (Kevin) Thompson; great-grandchildren, C.J., Katie, Noah, Taylor, Michelle (Brian), Doug, Luke, Josh, Dalton (Lauren), Landon, Aubrey, Luke, Wade (Sarah), Glenna, Megan and Marley; great-great grandchildren, Carmyne, Brian, Kaiden and Nora; a niece, Bev (Gene) Zoll; great-nieces, Stephanie and Natalie; and special friend, Jerry Frost. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty (Lucas) Bodey; son, Mike Bodey; sister, Cenie (Jesse) Hartman; daughter-in-law Peggy; one great-great grandson. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Leonards memory to the Mercy McAuley Center Activities Fund, 906 Scioto St., Urbana, OH 43078.
