Lawrence Anthony Meyer, 61, of Urbana, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born on September 10, 1957 in St. Paul, MN, a son of Robert Lawrence and Daris Arthell (Blyeth) Meyer. Tony was a mechanic/parts manager with SVG Motors and a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was an Assistant District Commissioner, lifelong Scouter and a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Springfield Symphony Chorale and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Urbana.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Walck) Meyer; sons, Josh (Erynn) Hanford, Jake (Valarie) Hanford and Seth (Amanda) Hanford; six grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Keith) Davidson and Monica (Steve) Bayness; brothers, Bob (Sheila) Meyer, Don (Darlin) Meyer, John (Deann) Meyer, Steve Meyer and Greg Seymour; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Paula Fox; and niece, Jenny Fox.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A memorial service will then be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the Messiah Lutheran Church, 1013 East Lawn Avenue, Urbana, OH with Rev. Ray Branstiter officiating.
The family wishes to thank Tony’s doctors for their care and compassion during his illness: Dr. Jeffery Bowers of Urbana and Dr. Ashraf, Dr. Rivsi and Dr. Gujja.
Memorial contributions in Tony’s memory may be made to the memorial fund at Messiah Lutheran Church or to the Boy Scouts of America Tecumseh Council, 326 S. Thompson Ave., Springfield, OH 45506.
