Kathleen Ann Crusey

Kathleen Ann (Kadel) Crusey passed away June 19, 2021, after a battle with lung cancer. Kathy was intelligent, creative, funny, determined, and sassy (as all the best people are). She gave the greatest hugs and had the warmest smile.  At one time, Kathy was co-owner of the Miami Printery, Inc. in Piqua, Ohio, along with her first husband James Carnes. She went on to have a graphic design career with Hammer Graphics of Piqua, and Cori- Graphics in Troy. Having retired several years ago, she spent her days with her husband John Crusey, in their Piqua home.  Family was the most important thing to Kathy, and we are all quite certain that in the weeks, months, and years to follow we will feel her watching over us and hear her say: “Drive carefully” and “Be safe” every time we walk out the door. We’ll feel her presence with every pot of homemade soup we make, and at every over-the-top holiday dinner we share.  Her parents Phyllis and Ralph Kadel of Urbana preceded her in death, as did her brother Tom Kadel of Pennsylvania. Her sister Sue Kadel survives. She is also survived by her loving husband John, daughter Jenny (Chris) McCreight of Hiram, Ohio, son Khori (Christina) Carnes of Middletown, Ohio,  stepdaughter Robin (Paul) Heintz and stepson Dan Crusey (Laura Denney) both of Sidney.  Kathy adored her grandchildren: Linden, Kynleigh, Khadyn, Isaac, Sasha, Paul, and Ian – and her great-grandson Cameron. She will soon have another grandchild and a great-grandchild to watch over, as two new babies are due this year. We can only wait to see who inherits her loving smile, her stubbornness, and that wonderful talent for making us laugh.  A private family graveside will be held at Kingcreek Cemetery.
