Joyce Marie Thomas

Joyce Marie Thomas, age 77, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 29, 1947, in Towanda, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Roy Basil and Frances Elaine (Walker) Coolbaugh. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Frank Thomas whom she married on August 19, 1967. In addition, she leaves behind her niece, Shelley Coolbaugh and close friends, Tammy Ankrom, Steve (Jennifer) Fisher and their children, Emily and Austin (Kacie) Fisher. Joyce dedicated 46 ½ years to Grimes Honeywell where she was valued and loved by all. She had a heart of gold and was always giving in any way she could. Joyce loved spending time with the people she cared about, and she always knew how to have a good time. Her dogs were her pride and joy and among her other passions, she enjoyed travelling with loved ones, exploring Yellow Springs or just going to Big Lots to walk around for hours. Creating memories was what she treasured the most. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 11am-12pm at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with service beginning at 12pm. Pastor Christopher Dinnell will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to His Hands Extended Sanctuary, 1560 Dialton Rd.
