Joyce Elaine Burton

Joyce Elaine Burton, 61, of Urbana, became an Angel on June 5, 2017 at approximately 8:25 a.m.
She was born on March 21, 1956 in Dayton, OH to Charles and Rose Burton, who are both now deceased. She lived at home until 1964 and then went to live at Orient Developmental Center.
Joyce came to Champaign Residential Services, Inc. in 1983. She first lived at Scioto Street and in 2010 moved to CRSI’s Paul Loffing Rainbow Wing. During this time, she worked at Lawnview Industries and then CRSI’s STRIVE Adult Day Program in Urbana. Alyssa Dunham with VALE has been her faithful guardian and support.
Joyce wanted to be part of any conversation going on around her, and she always enjoyed humor. She loved Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys music. If there was dancing going on, you could expect to see Joyce on the floor. She liked being outside, taking walks, and rides in the community.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, on June 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Officiating minister will be Joe Angles of Russell’s Point Church of God. Intermittent date to be determined by close friends at Oak Dale Cemetery.
Joyce loved being told how beautiful she was, and we will surely miss that beautiful smile.
Joyce was a perfect example that great things come in small packages! You will be missed but never forgotten.
