Joann L. Vaught, 74, of Cable died at 7:26 A.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was born July 20, 1940 in Champaign Co. a daughter of Claude and Florence (Swisher) Rice. Joann retired from Northern Floral and had worked at Kirby Hatcheries. She had attended Triad Schools, was an avid reader, loved collecting bears and lighthouses and enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include her husband Willard Vaught whom she married April 10, 1990; sons Roger (Pamela) Griffith of Mechanicsburg, Ronald Jay (Darlene) Griffith of Belle Center, David Ferriman of Cuba, MO, Robert Ferriman of FL, Michael Colwell of AZ; step daughters Karen Williams of TX, Cynthia (Butch) Fowler of FL, Patti (Darren) McKown of Licking Co., OH; stepsons, Willard (Dawn) Vaught of Zanesfield, Larry (Heidi) Vaught of Italy, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister Maxine McDonald of Urbana; half- brother Charles Rice of Jefferson City MO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by sons, Karl Ray Ferriman, Eric Ferriman, grandchild Shannon Pence; sister, Dorothy Ewing; brothers Oscar Rice, Kenneth Rice; brother-in-laws Chester Vaught and Jerry Vaught. The family will receive friends from noon 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERLA HOME, Urbana where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg, OH. Contributions may be made in Joanns memory to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125.
