Jimmy D. Sisk, 67, of Urbana, died at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in his residence. He was born on December 15, 1946 in Shortt Gap, VA, the son of Morris T. and Ethel M. (Elkins) Sisk. While in the U.S. Army, Jimmy was stationed in Vietnam. He lived his life for his children and enjoyed rides in the country and telling stories. Survivors include his children, Chad Sisk, Missy Sisk and Allen Sisk, all of Urbana; grandchildren, Haley and Jordan Powell; siblings, Linda Boyd of Raven, VA, Jay and wife Lucille of Pounding Mill, VA and Buford Beaut and wife Margie of Taswell, VA; in-laws, Glenn Holycross and wife Kimberly of Urbana, Doug Holycross of Orlando, FL and Barb Holycross Rife and husband Dale of Urbana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Lynn Sisk on December 26, 1995; brother, Bill Sisk; and sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Carlos Byrd. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 with Pastor Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Grupe, Zach Underwood, Mike Byrd, Pastor Bill Moore, Derick Byrd and Devin Byrd. Heaven gained another angel . . . a hero as we say goodbye to an amazing man. The best dad, friend, grandpa and uncle anyone could ask for. You will forever be loved, missed and thought about.
