Jarold E. Skeen

Jarold E. Skeen, age 83, of Urbana, passed peacefully from this life on November 6, 2015 at Hearth and Home in Urbana. He was born on April 21, 1932 in Springfield, to the late Port and Myrta Skeen. Jarold is a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired from International Harvester, and served 10 years with the Urbana Police Parking Division. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. Jarold is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara D. Skeen; children, Russell (Bobbette) Shafer, Monica (Matt) Thomas, Andrea (Tom) Vaughan; grandchildren, Britny Kennard, Devin Shafer, Austin Minchew, Rylan and Nathan Shafer, Kolton, Taylor and Emelia Thomas, Kelsey, Thomas, and Savannah Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Langston and Chase Kennard, Brendon Cook, and Austen Lovell. Along with his parents, Jarold was preceded in death by a brother Harold Skeen; and step-son Marion E. Shafer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 11:00am-1:00pm in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 1:00pm with Matt Thomas officiating.
