Janet J. Smith

SMITH, Janet J. age 88 of Urbana passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, February 12, 2021 at her home.  She was born on July 13, 1932, the daughter of George and Clarabelle (Smith) Harrington in Madison County, Ohio.  In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by two sons, Steve Davis and Michael Smith; her husband, LeRoy "Bud" Davis; siblings: Gayle, Ruth, Ray, George, and Irene; a grandson, two great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. She leaves behind her children: Howard (Irene) Hawkins, Joanne (Ed) Shelpman, Laura (Rusty) McCoy, Kim (Tim) Sidders and Phyllis Borders; two grandsons she raised Keith and Cheyenne Smith.  Her siblings: Wayne, Donna, Phyllis, Bill, Mary and Connie Sue; grandchildren: Jennifer, Aaron, Charles, Timmy, Sarah, Megan, Matthew, Mitchell, George, Howard, Peggy, Missy, Tiffany, December, Chris, Steven, Melissa, and Joey; twenty-six great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.  Janet was a devoted homemaker, loved spending time with her larger than life family and was a great bartender.  She was a longtime member of the Urbana and Mechanicsburg Eagles.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with her funeral following on Friday, February 19 beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Janet will be laid to rest in Oakdale Cemetery.  Condolences and memorial contributions may be made to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com
