James William Avery Reeves

James William Avery Reeves was born August 13, 1926 in Shelbyville, TN to Alvin and Ester Reeves, who preceded him in death. He was called to eternal rest on May 12, 2015 at 88 years of age. He married Dorothy Carmichael over 70 years ago, on August 6, 1944. She is left to cherish his memory, along with their 3 children: James Reeves Jr., Joseph Reeves and Charlotte Porter Mitzi (Doug Porter), as well as Laureen Weatherford, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hummons and brother, Alvin Reeves. James Reeves, Granddaddy, retired from Ekrich Meats after many years of service. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana from 2-4 p.m. with a memorial mass to begin at 4 p.m. with Father Matt Lee officiating, also at the funeral home.
