James H. Long

James H. Long Jr., 20, of North Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015. He was born on October 1, 1995 in Springfield, OH, the son of James H. Long, Sr. and Shannon (Shaffer) McClure. A 2014 graduate of Riverdale High School, James had an excellent work ethic and most recently worked for CPC Logistics and Hickle Pony Rides in Mt. Blanchard. He was an overall instigator to get a rise out of anyone, but would do anything for you. James was a very loved and opinionated young man who had a vision and determination to meet his goals. He had very proud parents and will be deeply missed by many. Survivors include his parents, James (Shelly) Long, Sr. of Urbana and Shannon (Greg) McClure of Urbana; fiancé, Kyndra Halcomb of Mt. Blanchard and her parents, Melanie and Kyle Halcomb of Mt. Blanchard; siblings, Cierra, Hayley, Aleah, Kali, Laila, Andrew, Gabe and Aria; maternal grandparents, John Shaffer Sr. of Urbana and Dave and Beth Jankowski of Beavercreek; paternal grandparents, John and Alice Long of Urbana and Jr. and Pam Brandyberry of Urbana; aunts and uncles, John (Suzanne) Shaffer Jr., Pam Spellman, John (Monica) Long, Jr., Kevin (Tammy) Long, Gary (Lynda) Long, Robin Long, Kim Bartee and Teresa (Billy) Lynn; numerous cousins; and special friend, Dakota Welker. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Debbie Shaffer; aunt, Kim Burkes; and uncle, Steve Long. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015.
