Horace E. "Gene" Baker

As the cold hits the ground, there is a warm heart in Heaven. On this day February 2, 2022 Horace Eugene "Gene" Baker, age 85 of Urbana passed away in Dayton, Ohio. He was born in Clark County, Ohio on June 27, 1936 to Horace J. and Ruth (Waldron) Baker. Gene served his country in the United State Army for 20 years. He leaves behind four sisters: Linda Hoffman, Rose Schwierking, Bonnie Lee and Esther Brown, several nieces and nephews, as well as all of his friends at the D.A.V. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with his funeral beginning at 1:00 p.m. Gene will be laid to rest at Oak Dale Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Veterans Of Foreign Wars/Spriggs-Wing Post 5451 & DAV Chapter 31.
