Harley Milton McCall went to be with his Lord on May 18, 2015. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Dad was born in Urbana, OH on August 27, 1931. He lived in Urbana, OH but graduated from Peebles High School as salutatorian in Peebles, OH. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during the Korean War. While overseas he began corresponding with a young lady who played the guitar and sang like an angel at the Church of God, at Urbana, OH where Dads family also attended. Within two years, he married this sweetheart, Trudy E. Kelley, on Feb. 14, 1954 in Urbana, OH where they settled and raised their family. Harley co-owned and operated the McCall Brothers Marathon Station from 1954-1964, from 1964-1995 he owned and operated Urbana Builders Supply. Dad loved the Lord more than anything and his family. He attended the Church of God, at Urbana, OH, serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether sharing a meal at home after church on Sundays or vacationing. He talked to his children almost on a weekly basis, but he prayed for them and the grandchildren on a daily basis. Dad supposedly retired in 1995, after which one is to relax and enjoy the Golden Years. Not Dad, he kept busier than ever. He loved working on Saturdays at a coin shop in Columbus. He enjoyed the outdoors, yard mowing, planting flowers, picking raspberries, hunting for mushrooms and sitting on his front porch. Dad was very active and when he wanted something done, he was determined to do it. He had more energy and could work circles around his family. He always had a smile on his face and never had anything negative to say. He was a hardworking man and could be counted on to be there when you needed him the most. He touched so many peoples lives. Leaving behind wife of 61 years, Trudy E. McCall; his children, Belinda K. (Rex) Asbury of Cable, Edward E. McCall of Beavercreek and H. Michael (Tammy) McCall of Urbana; his grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Otto, Emily Rose Asbury, Mandy (Aaron) Lauck, Kelli (Heath) Underwood, Katie Jo McCall and Doug McCall; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Sam, Jake and Zeke Lauck and Carter and Coraline Underwood. Viewing hours will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Church of God, 985 East Lawn Avenue, Urbana, immediately followed by the funeral service with Pastor David Gammello officiating. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God, Urbana. The family is being served by WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
