Gwendolyn J. "Gwyen" Ohls

Gwendolyn J. “Gwen” Ohls, 80, of Springfield, died at 3:02 A. M. Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1932 in Marvin VA, a daughter of William Ashley and Blanche (Shelton) Deskins. Survivors include daughters, Pat Horsley Miller, of Springfield ; sons Steve Horsley of Springfield, Dan Horsley and his wife Kris of Payson AZ; step daughters, Laura Benslay and her husband Charles of Fishers IN, Judy Flores and her husband Ted, of Highland, IN; 4 grandchildren Robin VandenNoven and husband Bill of Dublin, OH, Hunter Horsley of Payson AZ, Stacey Flanagan and her husband Jeremy of Payson AZ, Adam Ohls and wife Michelle of Fishers IN; 3 great grandchildren, Alan Flanagan, Phillip Flanagan, Jackson Ohls; sisters June Anweiler of Houston TX, Dorothy “Dot” Whitehead of Austin TX; half sister Terry Ann King and her husband Steve of CA; brothers Carlos Deskins and wife Carol of Miamisburg, OH, Buck Deskins and wife Lois of Tipp City, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special loving and loved caregivers. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon W. Ohls on May 10, 1999; son Marvin Douglas ‘Marty’ Horsley; sister, Ruth Wade and brothers, Frank Deskins, Lemuel Deskins, and William Harold Deskins. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, OH where the services will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Rev.
