George W. Harrington

George W. Harrington, Jr., 62, of Urbana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2013 after his hard and courageous battle since being diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year. He was born January 18, 1951, in Champaign County, OH, a son of George and Clarabelle (Smith) Harrington, Sr. George, enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, junking, reading, shooting pool, and playing cards. He had worked at Q3, Roberts Refuse and Bingham Construction. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Claudia (Fields); 5 sisters, Janet Smith of Urbana, Mary Hooker of Chatsworth, GA, Phyllis VanHoose, Donna DeBolt, both of Urbana, Connie Sue Harrington of Belle Center; two brothers, Wayne Harrington of Urbana, William Harrington of Columbus, IN; brother-in-law Eugene Fields of Urbana, special friend David Hackley of Urbana, and George was a beloved Uncle to many nieces, nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Carroll and Evelyn Harrington; brothers, Gayle and Ray Harrington; and beloved mother-in-law, Ann Fields. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where the services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 with Pastor Tony Pena officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
