Fredric Damon Scott

SCOTT, Fredric Damon age 83 of Urbana, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Urbana Health & Rehab following a battle with cancer. He was born on July 10, 1938 in Ridgeway, Ohio the son of the late Charles and Freida (McGinnis) Scott. On July 12, 1980 he married the late Betty Jean Scott; together they shared 30 years of marriage before she passed away in 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, Fredric is preceded in death by two sons, Robin (Lois) Scott of Jacksonville, FL and Shaun Scott of Atlanta, GA. Survivors include: his brother, Robert I. (Arretta) Scott of Bellefontaine; eight sons: Brent (Shawn) Scott of Appleton, WI, Kurt Scott of Urbana, Delvin Scott of Springfield, Billy (Donna) Potter of Leander, TX, Chad (Nancy) Potter of Dadeville, AL, Brad (Dawn) Potter of Centerville, OH, Donnie Scott of Bellefontaine, and Jayveon Scott of Urbana; daughter, LaShelle LeLewis of Las Vegas, NV; nephew, Robert P. Scott of Bellefontaine; two great-nephews; one great-niece; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren along with a brother-in-law and road dawg Richard "Dickie" Bowser of Urbana. Fredric retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after having various truck driving jobs throughout the years. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, camping and boating with friends and family. Fredric fostered countless children and was dedicated to helping anyone he could. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. His funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Leiker officiating. Fredric will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fredric's grandson, Kai Scott, to offset medical expenses.
