Franklyn Scott Shaffner

Franklyn Scott Shaffner, 78, of Urbana, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana, after a long struggle with cancer.
He was born in Champaign County, Ohio on October 20, 1939, the son of James L. and Mary Elizabeth (Frost) Shaffner. Scott served in the U.S. Army from 1956-59 in the 38th Engineer Company. He retired from the former D.A.B. in Bellefontaine and enjoyed doing handyman work.
Survivors include two sons, Mike (Angel) Shaffner of Quincy, OH and Jamie Shaffner of West Liberty, OH; 7 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend, his dog, Oscar.
He was preceded in death by an adopted daughter, Cari Ann Shaffner, and brothers, Art Shaffner and Dick Shaffner.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
