Franklin G. Flynn

Franklin G. Flynn, age 73, of Urbana, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Frank was born on August 1, 1943 to the late Harold and Opal (Smith) Flynn in Champaign County. He worked as a welder for Johnson’s Manufacturing on Miami St. in Urbana and later worked at the Champaign County Nursing Home doing maintenance. He loved hunting, trapping, fishing and woodworking. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, and especially spending time with his family. Frank was married to Deanna (Adams) Flynn for over 54 years and was the father of 4 loving children. He taught them all the things he knew that would help them in their lives.
Frank leaves behind his children, Tim Flynn, Karen (Tom) Halterman, Glenn (Becky) Flynn, and Caleb Flynn; grandchildren, Brittany, Katie, Rachel (Cody Snow), and Bethany Halterman, Mariah, Alexa and Ryan Flynn, and Cassie Miller; great-grandchildren, Tristin and Brantley Halterman, Aiden Whitaker, Karter Harris, Ahryian Turner, and Brayden Thompson; two brothers, John (Debbie) Flynn, and Dan (Brenda) Flynn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his twin sister, Janet Woodruff.
A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Elder Skip Jackson officiating.
